Cool
- A part of a sweep and a flick of the hip and you’re looking the other way.
- Seal Launches, almost any time, almost anywhere. Nough said.
- Look where you want to go. The boat goes there.
- You learn selective application of power when you paddle one.
- Pool Roll Practice
- Great for working on your forward stroke.
- You can find tons of used ones at great prices (just not the newest and sexiest).
- You can fit about a hundred in the back of a pickup.
- Making fun of your friends when they swim. Making excuses when you swim.
- Floating sideways down the river.
Not So Cool
- Whitewater paddlers call anything but whitewater flat, even when it’s not.
- Not the best for covering distance. You may want to go strait, but the boat doesn’t.
- Fit can be tight if you have the dreaded long leg big feet combo.
- You have to live near whitewater to get the most out of them, and it’s un-cool that I don’t.
- You really need more than one. OK, that’s true of all paddle craft, but I was running out of not so cool.
